I always knew I would work with animals in some way.

Starting as a veterinary nurse as soon as I could after school, I worked in a practice with a resident dog trainer. This was where I first found my love of dog training.

 

I started assisting in classes and then a year later I acquired my first dog as a rescue through work, she was called Poppet.

 

Poppet was very troubled and came with serious medical issues. The medical issues healed in time, but she was left with serious trust problems and was badly dog aggressive.

I continued volunteering in the training classes and worked on rehabilitating Poppet. As she began to improve, I took a more hands on role in classes, and then trained towards my ADPT qualification.

Without Poppet, I would never have started the business, and she would never have been the happy dog she became without me! My aim now through Poppets is to help dogs and their families work together to achieve a happy home.
